The Watershed Committee is a Standing Committee authorized by
the Ponderosa board.
Watershed Committee Activities
Committee meetings will be suspended until the spring. Watch
here for resumption of meetings. If anyone would like to help
with the Watershed activities, please email the committee chairman at email@example.com.
The Watershed Committee had two areas of focus: First to manage the natural areas of Ponderosa community property, including the forested greenbelts and shoreline riparian environments. The management approach balances two objectives on behalf of our members: 1) preserving and maintaining our natural areas in as wild, healthy and natural state as possible; and 2) providing our members access to these natural areas year round for their education, recreation and personal enjoyment.
The second area of focus is to educate our members regarding what it means to live in our natural east-Cascade woodland environment (as compared to an urban environment):
- How to manage the risk of wildfire
- How to live with wildlife
- What steps to take in the event of an emergency.
Any PCC member in good standing is invited to participate in the activities of the Watershed Committee, which meets from time to time. Activities focus on educational activities and trail maintenance. For more information contact the PCC manager.
